On water smooth as glass sentinels stand on mirrored floors as they float on life's illusion.

Burnishing

steel scratched and rubbed
circular motions in high speed
stray reflections gathered light
can you see my image here
tiny pieces of me picassoesque
lingering in the groves of the wall
reflecting in the cold steel of reality or
do you long to touch the burnished wall
in a dream and reassemble my life
feeling the twitch of my warm soul
