Well Christmas lights are starting to come out. I really enjoy the color and light we all need in our lives from time to time. Have you ever noticed how much we all love holidays for almost anything. When I was a school boy I liked being Catholic and going to Catholic school because of all the Holy Days we got out of school.
They were:

1. January 1: Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
2. January 6: the Epiphany
3. March 19 : Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary
4. Thursday of the sixth week of Easter: the Ascension
5. Thursday after Trinity Sunday: the Body and Blood of Christ
6. June 29: Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles
7. August 15 : the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
8. November 1: All Saints
9. December 8: the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
10. December 25 : the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ (Christmas)

I grew up in Houston where we also got out of school for the big snowstorm of 1959 (1/32 of an inch that didn't stick on the roads) - what a thrill. I think we also celebrated the Fat Stock Show and Rodeo. Personally I have celebrated Mardis Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Columbus Day (New England), the World Series, Super Bowl, Bobby Fischer Day (March 9) etc.

Now that I don't have any particular work to do or school I celebrate every day but I still enjoy the lights. Here are a few I took the 26th.
