Man in this sense really is a genderless term and the one about Man vs Woman is really the same as what is often called the battle of the sexes. What I noticed in this list is the one central theme I find in everything written from a cookbook to a letter. Everything written has the "vs." it is the struggle / conflict / misunderstanding / mis-communications / discovery and finally reconciliation of our lives. The real question in anyone's life is there ever really reconciliation. In many Christian faiths it's expressed as "Let go and Let God" in Eastern beliefs it something like "Empty the Rice Bowl." Nike says "Just Do It" some others say "go with the flow" and the movie Risky Business says "Sometimes you just have to say "what the heck" and take some chances." The real core of life is that life is full of issues and conflicts. The more we are immersed in life the more we experience all of these little "vs." things. It seems to me the only question I need to ask myself is whether I seek the "vs." that comprises life or hide from life behind timidity, compromise and settle for less.
